About the Mooring Counselling Service
The Mooring Counselling Service provides a place ‘to moor’ for as long as is needed in order to reconnect with your own inner strength to enable you to continue your journey or to embrace a different journey.
For times of Change, Challenge and Loss, for example:
- The breakdown of an important relationship
- Struggling to come to terms with a bereavement
- Receiving diagnosis of illness
- Life stage transitions
- Carrying painful past events, such as abuse
- Feeling isolated and inadequate as a parent
- Feeling out of control due to addiction
- Feeling stressed and stuck
- Difficulty in finding new hope after the loss of a job, a dream or an identity
- Experiencing anxiety, depression or suicidal thoughts
- Repeating behaviour patterns that always end with the same disappointing results
- Not knowing who you are, what you need or how to get it
- Finding it hard to form satisfying relationships with others
- Engaging in self-harming behaviours
Fees and Frequency
Although people often find it most helpful to attend sessions every week this does not have to be the case. You can also attend as many or as few sessions as you like. I understand that the cost of counselling is something that most of us need to consider carefully. With this in mind, we would regularly review sessions to ensure that they continue to meet your needs.
The initial session is charged at £50 and is an opportunity to assess your needs and expectations. We would then decide whether counselling is the most appropriate support for you and whether I am the person to accompany you on your counselling journey. There is no obligation for you to continue after this first meeting.
The charge for a counselling session lasting 60 minutes is £50. This is payable at the end of each session. Normally an ending of the sessions would be discussed between the two of us and worked towards. You are free to finish sessions at any time but a planned ending is always helpful.
Location
The Mooring Counselling Service is located in Market Deeping which is easily accessible from Stamford, Peterborough, Bourne and Spalding. The venue affords comfort and privacy with easy access, free car parking and toilet facilities. Counselling sessions take place in a light and airy room.
